Wednesday 17th October – Alex Woods’ New York Quartet

The Cathedral Hotel, 7:45pm Door, 8pm start, tickets £10 on the door.  £5 students. Simply one of the finest Alto Saxophonists to come out of the Midlands, it’s a delight to be welcoming Alex Woods and his band to Lichfield. Upon graduating from the Birmingham Conservatoire with a 1st Class Honours Degree, Alex moved to New York where he studied and played with some of the best jazz musicians in the world. As part of his brand new album release tour, Alex is bringing some of his New York musicians to the UK to play a series of gigs. We can’t wait to hear them!


Sunday 17th October – Walsall Jazz Orchestra

This local Big Band needs little introduction to jazz fans in Lichfield and the West Midlands! Playing a selection of Funk, Fusion and Original Jazz, the Walsall Jazz Orchestra is made up of great players from the area!


Wednesday 21st November – Nick Dewhurst Band

The Cathedral Hotel, 7:45pm Door, 8pm start, tickets £10 on the door.  £5 students. As part of a Autumn tour of gigs, local Trumpeter and Guitarist Nick Dewhurst presents a concert with his band playing a selection of his finest tunes including ‘Suspect in You’, ‘Fusion Line’, ‘Skyrocket’, ’Gibraltar Rock’ and ‘Bird Street Blues’! Featuring great grooves, funky riffs and catchy tunes, this type of jazz sits somewhere between Hard Bop and Jazz Fusion. There might be a couple of quirky covers too…guaranteed to make your feet tap!


Wednesday 19th December – Lichfield Jazz Christmas Special

The Cathedral Hotel, 7:45pm Door, 8pm start, tickets £10 on the door.  £5 students. We’ve got the date early in the diary this year for the ever-increasingly famous Lichfield Jazz Christmas Special.  Featuring the one and only Lichfield Jazz Big Band (made up of some of the region’s finest Jazz Musicians), you can expect a night full of Christmas tunes like you’ve never heard them before, plus some songs from great local singers, and some great jazz tunes as well…not every tune has to be a jazzy carol!!
