I’m really excited about this year’s Jazz at the George IV Christmas Special, and it’s going to feature loads of wonderful musicians, and great festive music!
You can expect to hear everything from Jingle Bells and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, to Christmas Wrapping and Santa Baby, along with some jazz standards, pop tunes, a couple of vocal numbers, and some original compositions too!
This year’s band is called the ‘Lichfield Jazz Big Band’, and our line up is a mixture of the musicians that regularly play at the George IV, along with some of the best local players too! The full personnel is listed here:
Trumpets: Nick Dunham, Nick Dewhurst, Jon Alderson, Charlotte Kedge
Saxes: Callum Roxburgh, Beth Fisher, Sam Craig, Nick Brown, Kit Benham
Trombones: Josh Tagg, Dr. Dave Thomas
Rhythm: Tom Lindsay (Pno), Tom Moore (Bass), Charlie Johnson (Drums)
Vocals: Chris Buckle, Beth Fisher
The gig starts at 8pm, and costs just £5 on the door! We’ll have our pork pie tin as usual, so if you wish to make a greater contribution to your ticket price, that would be much appreciated. I really hope to see you there!!
Cheers
N 🙂
