Funktional @ FUSE Festival, Lichfield

Last Sunday Funktional played to a great crowd at the Fuse Festival in Lichfield, hosted by Lichfield Arts.  The set featured some new and old material for the band, but unusual highlights were the showy Libertango written for C trumpet and Tenor Sax, as based on Tine Thing Helseth’s arrangement, and also the soft summery sounds of La Vie En Rose, which featured Flugel and Flute.  Matt Sellar rocked it on Drums, providing a great groove throughout, and was joined by MYJO’s bassist Nick Roberts, and on Keys was Warwickshire’s finest Tom Lindsay! I played various trumpet like instruments, and Sam Craig joined on Tenor Sax and Flute, and kept the crowd well enthused with lively Brecker-like solos! A really fun afternoon!!
